Amala Paul (born 26 October 1991) is an Indian actress and producer known for her work in Tamil, Malayalam, and Telugu films. She began her acting career with a minor supporting role in the Malayalam film Neelathamara (2009) and later gained prominence as the lead actress in the Tamil film Mynaa (2010).

In 2016, Amala and Vijay filed for divorce due to disagreements with her in-laws about her continuing acting career, and they divorced in 2017. She later married entrepreneur Jagat Desai in 2023, and in January 2024, they announced they were expecting their first child.

In January 2018, Amala was arrested for tax evasion after a crime branch investigation found that she had registered her luxury car in Puducherry using fake documents. The case was later closed due to jurisdictional issues.
