Nagarjuna has made a grand return to television as the host of Bigg Boss Telugu, now in its 8th season, which premiered on September 1. The actor took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to share some impressive statistics about the opening episode, calling it “groundbreaking.”
This is Nagarjuna’s sixth consecutive season hosting the show. He proudly shared that the launch episode registered a TV rating of 18.9 and 5.9 billion viewing minutes. Expressing his excitement, he wrote, “5.9 billion minutes of record-breaking viewing. The power of entertainment. Bigg Boss Telugu 8 has shattered records in both viewing minutes and ratings.”

For its eighth season, 14 contestants have entered the house to compete in various tasks to grow the prize pool with no upper limit. Notably, there is no captaincy or ration system this season, meaning no immunity during voting. Contestants must earn their ration through challenges.
The launch episode featured appearances from special guests like actors Rana Daggubati, Nivetha Thomas, Nani, Priyanka Mohan, and director Vishwadev Rachakonda. In the first week, eight contestants face the threat of elimination: Vishnupriya, Nainika, Aditya Om, Naga Manikanta, Nikhil, Prithviraj, Shekar Basha, and Kiraak Seetha. Naga Manikanta, Shekar Basha, and Kiraak Seetha are in the danger zone, with this weekend’s episode set to reveal who stays and who leaves the house.
