Controversy Surrounds Kangana Ranaut’s Emergency Ahead of September 2024 Release

Kangana Ranaut’s upcoming film Emergency has sparked significant controversy and become a focal point of discussion. Set for a grand release on September 6, 2024, the film features Kangana not only in the lead role but also in the director’s chair.

In Emergency, Kangana portrays former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, focusing on the turbulent period when she declared an Emergency in the state of Punjab. This historical event led to widespread unrest, riots, and ultimately, the assassination of Indira Gandhi. However, the film has drawn criticism for allegedly depicting the Sikh community in a negative light, leading to calls for its ban in several regions, including Telangana.

The controversy escalated when a delegation from the Telangana Sikh Society, led by former IPS officer Tejdeep Kaur Menon, met with Chief Minister Revanth Reddy to express their deep concerns and request a ban on the film in the state.

As the situation unfolds, all eyes are on CM Revanth Reddy’s next move. Similar agitation is being reported in other states across the country, raising questions about the film’s future and the broader implications for its release.
