The Kerala government has taken a pioneering step in the realm of digital entertainment by launching CSpace, India’s first government-backed OTT platform. With a vision to offer a blend of informative and captivating content tailored for a diverse audience, CSpace aims to revolutionize the way entertainment is consumed.
The official inauguration of CSpace took place today at the prestigious Kairali Theater in Kerala, where Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan unveiled the app. Managed by the Kerala State Film Development Corporation Ltd (KSFDC), an entity dedicated to promoting Malayalam cinema, CSpace operates under the guidance of the Department of Cultural Affairs, Government of Kerala.
At present, CSpace boasts a collection of 42 films, comprising 35 feature films, 6 documentaries, and 1 short film. These selections undergo meticulous curation by a panel of three experts before being made available on the OTT platform.
CSpace adopts a pay-per-view model and is easily accessible for download on both Android and iOS devices. Audiences can enjoy the content for a nominal fee of Rs. 75 per movie, with half of the proceeds directed to the content provider.
