Amritha Aiyer, born on May 14, 1994, in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India, is an Indian actress primarily known for her work in Tamil and Telugu cinema. She stepped into the film industry with her debut in the Tamil movie “Padaiveeran” in 2018. Since then, she has showcased her talent in Telugu cinema, notably in films like “Red” (2021) and “Hanu Man” (2024). Aiyer began her acting journey with uncredited roles in films such as Lingaa (2014), Tenaliraman (2014), Pokkiri Raja (2016), and Theri (2016).

Her breakthrough came with her lead role debut in Padaiveeran (2018) opposite Vijay Yesudas, where she portrayed the character of Malar. The Hindu praised her performance, stating that “Amritha fits her role aptly.” Following this, she starred alongside Vijay Antony in Kaali (2018).

In 2019, Aiyer was set to make her Kannada debut in Gramayana alongside Vinay Rajkumar, but the project was halted due to the producer contracting COVID-19. She then portrayed the role of Thendral, the captain of the Tamil Nadu football team, in Atlee’s Bigil (2019) alongside Vijay.

In 2021, Aiyer made her Telugu debut in Red, opposite Ram Pothineni, directed by Kishore Tirumala. She also appeared in Vanakkam Da Mappilei opposite G. V. Prakash Kumar, which was directly released via Sun NXT, receiving mixed and negative reviews. Her third release, Lift, opted for a theatrical release and was directly released via Disney+ Hotstar, receiving mixed to highly positive reviews.

Her last release in 2022 was the Tamil film Coffee with Kadhal opposite Jai, which received mixed to negative reviews and performed poorly at the box office.

As of December 2022, Aiyer is currently filming for her upcoming Telugu film Hanu-Man opposite Teja Sajja, set to premiere on January 12, 2024, in more than 11 languages. Additionally, she is working on an untitled Tamil-Telugu bilingual film opposite Teejay Arunachalam.
