Indian 2: Kamal Haasan’s Sequel Faces Major Setback at Box Office

“Indian 2,” starring Kamal Haasan, is the much-anticipated sequel to the acclaimed yesteryear blockbuster “Indian.” After being in production for many years, the film was released amid significant hype but failed to meet expectations, becoming a major disappointment on its opening day. Here are the 10-day worldwide collections for “Indian 2”:

“Indian 2” experienced a significant decline after its first weekend, continuing this trend into the second weekend. The film did not achieve impressive numbers in Tamil Nadu, collecting around 52 crores gross. In the Telugu states, it grossed about 26 crores, while the overseas collections were approximately 50 crores. The rest of India contributed around 22 crores. The total worldwide gross now stands at around 150 crores.

The film is heading towards being classified as a major disaster, with projections indicating it will end up below 170 crores. This is a low figure considering the pre-release business conducted for the film. The strategy of releasing the film in two parts has backfired, and there are now questions about the fate of “Indian 3,” which is set to release in early 2025. “Indian 2” will also be available for streaming much earlier than originally planned
