Strong Supporting Cast: Samyukta Menon delivers a noteworthy performance, with her character contributing significantly to the narrative. Vassishta Simha impresses, and Malvika Nair handles her role effectively.

Negative Aspects:

Leisurely Paced First Half: While the movie begins on an interesting note, the first hour suffers from a lack of gripping narration. Some unnecessary scenes and a leisurely pace contribute to a less engaging first half.

Mediocre Songs: The inclusion of a couple of subpar songs, especially in the first hour, hinders the overall tempo of the film. Tightening the screenplay in the initial stages could have elevated the movie.

Subpar Editing: The editing could have been more polished to enhance the overall flow of the narrative.

Technical Evaluation:

Music: While the songs by Harshavardhan Rameshwar fall short of expectations, the background score is decent.

Cinematography: Soundar Rajan’s cinematography is noteworthy, capturing the essence of the period drama effectively.

Story and Dialogues: Srikanth Vissa’s impactful story and patriotic dialogues are significant assets to the film.

Verdict:

“Devil” is a watchable period action drama offering an interesting storyline, impressive twists, and a stellar performance by Kalyan Ram. Despite a slow start and some drawbacks in the first half, the film manages to redeem itself in the latter part. If you can overlook these flaws, “Devil” is worth a try for its unique plot and engaging second half.
