In a groundbreaking political debut, Tamil actor Vijay delivered a fiery speech at the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam rally, taking aim at the ruling DMK and calling out divisive politics. Addressing a massive crowd in Vikravandi, Villupuram district, Vijay accused the DMK of using “underhand dealing” to benefit a single family under the guise of a “Dravidian model.” He emphasized that “hate politics and divisive politics” are the real enemies of the people.
Vijay took a measured but clear dig at both the DMK and the BJP, describing the former as a “political adversary” and the latter as an “ideological opponent.” The 50-year-old actor highlighted his vision for a fair and inclusive Tamil Nadu, stating, “This crowd is here for a cause, not cash… I want to be a primary force, not extra luggage.”
Promising bold action, Vijay announced that Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam would contest all 234 assembly seats in the 2026 Tamil Nadu elections. His platform will follow the principles of Dravidian icon Periyar, with a strong stance on social justice and women’s empowerment, but without opposition to any religious beliefs. Vijay also paid homage to notable icons such as Kamaraj, Ambedkar, freedom fighter Velu Nachiar, and revolutionary Anjalai Ammal, signaling a commitment to Tamil Nadu’s rich legacy of social reform.
In a state where political dynamics are shifting, Vijay’s entry brings fresh momentum and signals a new era for Tamil Nadu’s political landscape.
