Rukmini Vasanth, a prominent actress in the Kannada industry, is now expanding her horizons into the Tamil film industry as well. The talented actress is currently in discussions for a role in “Kantara 1,” with the look test reportedly already completed. Her career trajectory has been noteworthy.
Rukmini gained recognition right from her debut in the Kannada film industry with “Birbal Trilogy Case 1: Finding Vajramuni” in 2019, opposite M. G. Srinivas, which received acclaim from audiences. The film notably introduced an 8D song for the first time in Kannada cinema and utilized the Scribble effect, marking a milestone.
Following this success, Rukmini Vasanth had a brief appearance in the Hindi film “Upstarts,” portraying the character of an NGO girl. Amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, she took a hiatus from acting. However, her comeback with the two-part film “Side A” and “Side B” alongside Rakshit Shetty proved to be a massive success, earning her accolades for her portrayal of Priya.
Subsequently, she played a pivotal role in the Ganesh-starrer “Baanadariyalli,” followed by her involvement in three ongoing projects. These include “Bhairathi Ranagal,” starring Shiva Rajkumar and directed by Narthan, which appears to be inspired by true events.
Additionally, she is part of VJS51, an untitled project featuring Vijay Sethupathi and Yogi Babu, directed by Arumuga Kumar. Notably, Rukmini recently secured a role in Siva Karthikeyan’s upcoming film directed by AR Murugadoss, titled “Kantara, Chapter One.”
