Meanwhile, Aditi’s mother, Vidya Rao, practices Buddhism and comes from a diverse background. She is the daughter of a Chitrapur Saraswat Brahmin father from Mangalore and a Telugu mother. Thus, Aditi’s lineage reflects a blend of Hindu, Muslim, and Buddhist traditions, as well as Konkani, Telugu, Kannada, and Urdu languages.

Both of Aditi’s parents belong to the nobility of the former Hyderabad state. Her father, Ehsaan Hydari, was the grandson of Akbar Hydari, who served as the Prime Minister of Hyderabad state, and the nephew of Muhammad Saleh Akbar Hydari, a former Governor of Assam. Rameshwar Rao, the last ruling Raja of Wanaparthy, who held a prestigious position in the court of the Nizam of Hyderabad. Aditi Rao Hydari Early Life & Personal Life:

Aditi’s parents parted ways when she was just two years old, and being an only child, she found herself caught in the midst of a bitter custody battle between them. While her father remained in Hyderabad, her mother relocated to New Delhi with Aditi, triggering a prolonged legal dispute over custody and visitation rights.

Growing up amidst the acrimony between her parents, Aditi had limited contact with her father during her formative years and struggled with their relationship as she grew older. Despite her parents’ separation, Aditi’s father eventually remarried, but the couple did not have any other children. On the other hand, her mother, though never remarried, led an active social life and pursued her career. Consequently, once the custody issues settled and Aditi reached a suitable age, her mother sent her to boarding school at Rishi Valley School near Madanapalle in Andhra Pradesh.

Aditi spent her early years and school vacations shuttling between New Delhi and Hyderabad, where much of her extended family resided. She embarked on her journey in Bharatanatyam at the tender age of six under the tutelage of the renowned Delhi-based dancer Leela Samson.

In terms of her identity, Aditi chose to retain both her parents’ surnames, Rao and Hydari. She explained, “I wanted to keep both, as my mom has brought me up, but my father is also a part of me. Hydari is a rare name, so I kept both Rao and Hydari.”

Reports emerged in 2004 and again in 2009 suggesting that Aditi had tied the knot with Satyadeep Mishra in 2002, an Indian lawyer and former actor. However, Aditi remained tight-lipped about her marital status in a 2012 interview. Subsequently, in a 2013 interview, she confirmed her separation from Mishra. Aditi had met Mishra when she was just 17 years old, and their relationship became her first serious one. Despite their eventual separation, the two have maintained a close bond over the years and remain good friends.
