Aishwarya Rajesh (born January 10, 1990) is an acclaimed Indian actress known for her work predominantly in Tamil cinema, along with notable appearances in Malayalam and Telugu films. She has received numerous accolades, including four South Indian International Movie Awards, two Filmfare Awards South, and a Tamil Nadu State Film Award.
Aishwarya began her career as a television presenter on the comedy show Asatha Povathu Yaaru?. Her success in the reality dance competition Maanada Mayilada paved the way for her acting debut in the film Avargalum Ivargalum (2011). She gained wider recognition with her performance in Attakathi (2012). In 2014, her outstanding role in Kaaka Muttai earned her the Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Actress.

Aishwarya Rajesh was born on January 10, 1990, into a Telugu family in Chennai (formerly Madras). Her father, Rajesh, was a Telugu film actor who passed away during her early years. Her mother, Nagamani, was a dancer, and her family has a strong connection to the film industry. Her grandfather, Amarnath, was a Telugu actor, and her aunt, Sri Lakshmi, is a celebrated Telugu comedian with over 500 film appearances. Aishwarya is the youngest of four siblings, though she faced personal tragedies with the loss of two elder brothers during her teenage years.
Raised in Chennai, Aishwarya has often described her upbringing as “lower middle class.” She attended Shrine Vailankanni in Chennai, Sree Vidyanikethan International School in Tirupati, and Holy Angels Anglo Indian Higher Secondary School in Chennai. Her first acting experience came in 1995 when she appeared as a child artist in the Telugu film Rambantu.
Aishwarya pursued higher education at Ethiraj College for Women, Chennai, where she earned a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) degree. During her college years, she began learning dance to choreograph a stage performance for a cultural festival. This newfound passion led her to participate in the reality dance show Maanada Mayilada on Kalaignar TV.
