Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt is gearing up for the release of her much-awaited film Jigra, co-starring Vedang Raina. As part of the promotional tour, she recently visited Hyderabad, where she was joined by actors Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Rana Daggubati at the pre-release event. Several pictures and videos from the event have gone viral on social media.

In one such video, Alia is seen humorously attempting to sing the popular Telugu song Oo Antava from Pushpa: The Rise, originally performed by Samantha. Despite laughing throughout her rendition, the moment turned into a fun exchange, with Samantha smiling beside her and Rana and Vedang cheering her on. Alia, after finishing, joked that it was her “first and hopefully last time” singing the song.
Alia took the opportunity to praise Samantha, calling her a true “hero” both on and off-screen. She expressed her admiration for Samantha’s strength and resilience, stating, “It’s not easy to be a woman in a man’s world, but you have surpassed gender.” Alia even mentioned her desire to work with Samantha in a future project.
As for Jigra, the film tells a dark, emotional story of a sister’s fight to save her only surviving family member, her younger brother (played by Vedang Raina), who faces imprisonment in a foreign country due to a drugs case. The film, directed by Vasan Bala and produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions alongside Alia Bhatt and her sister Shaheen Bhatt, is slated to release on October 11, 2024.
