Actor Allu Arjun appeared via video conference before a local court on Friday for a hearing on his regular bail petition in connection with the Sandhya Theatre stampede case. The incident, which occurred during the premiere of Pushpa 2: The Rule in Hyderabad, tragically claimed the life of a 35-year-old woman and left her 8-year-old son injured.
Allu Arjun, listed as accused no. 11, was arrested on December 13 and remanded to 14-day judicial custody by the Nampally court. However, he was granted interim bail for four weeks by the Telangana High Court and released on December 14. Citing security concerns and to avoid public inconvenience, the actor appeared in court virtually as the remand period concluded on Friday. The court has postponed the bail hearing to December 30 after the police requested additional time.
The Chikkadpally police had filed the case against Allu Arjun, his security team, and the theatre management under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), following a complaint by the victim’s family.
