The Tamil film Amaran, starring Sivakarthikeyan and Sai Pallavi, has achieved remarkable box office success, crossing ₹150 crore worldwide in just four days since its release on October 31. Directed by Rajkumar Periasamy, this biopic on Major Mukund Varadarajan, an Indian soldier who lost his life in a 2014 mission in Kashmir, has resonated with audiences due to its compelling themes of bravery and sacrifice.
Trade analyst Ramesh Bala confirmed that Amaran quickly entered the ₹150-crore club, with the film seeing strong attendance and positive reviews that continue to fuel its theatrical run. On Day 4, it earned ₹21.50 crore in India, close to its opening day collection of ₹21.40 crore, bringing its domestic total to ₹83.45 crore. With consistent high occupancy rates—84.61% for Tamil and 76.34% for Telugu on November 3—the film is expected to join the ₹100-crore club in India soon.
Amaran draws from the book India’s Most Fearless: True Stories of Modern Military Heroes by Shiv Aroor and Rahul Singh, showcasing Major Mukund’s courageous mission. Produced by Raaj Kamal Films International and Sony Pictures Films India, the film features an ensemble cast, including Bhuvan Arora, Rahul Bose, Lallu, Shreekumar, and Geetha Kailasam, enhancing the film’s narrative impact.
With its gripping storyline and strong box office performance, Amaran highlights the audience’s growing interest in biopics that celebrate real-life heroes.
