Anchor Suma Addresses Controversy Over Fraudulent Real Estate Promotions

Popular anchor Suma is embroiled in a significant controversy. Years ago, she served as the brand ambassador for a fraudulent real estate company, Raki Avenues. Suma appeared in several advertisements where Raki Avenues promised 3BHK properties for Rs 26 lakhs in cities like Vijayawada and Rajahmundry.

Many middle-class families, influenced by these advertisements featuring Suma, invested their savings. Unfortunately, Raki Avenues deceived the investors and has not commenced any construction to date. The company’s founder and MD, Ramayya, is currently absconding after defrauding customers of Rs 10 crore. The aggrieved customers have sent legal notices to Suma and Raki Avenues, urging the government for assistance.

In response, Suma took to Instagram to issue a clarification. She explained that she had provided her professional services to Raki Avenues from 2016 to 2018. “I would like to clarify that these advertisements are now unauthorized, and I do not in any instance represent Raki Avenues after the aforementioned period. I am addressing this issue and taking appropriate legal action against all related parties to resolve it,” Suma stated.

She concluded her post by urging everyone to verify any advertisements, promotions, or videos directly from official channels to avoid misinformation. Suma thanked her supporters for their understanding.
