Born in Thrissur, Kerala, India, Aparna Balamurali is the daughter of KP Balamurali, a music director, and Shobha Balamurali. She completed her schooling at Devamatha CMI Public School.

Aparna made her film debut in 2015 with “Oru Second Class Yathra.” She gained widespread recognition for her role in “Maheshinte Prathikaaram” (2016). In the same year, she starred in the comedy “Oru Muthassi Gada.” Aparna’s Tamil film debut came with “8 Thottakkal” (2017).

Her other notable Malayalam films include “Sunday Holiday” (2017) and “Thrissivaperoor Kliptham” (2017), both opposite Asif Ali. Aparna’s stellar performance as Bommi in the critically acclaimed “Soorarai Pottru” (2020) earned her the National Film Award for Best Actress.
