Kollywood star Thalapathy Vijay’s much-awaited action thriller, The Greatest of All Time (GOAT), hit theatres yesterday and is drawing massive crowds across Tamil Nadu. Vijay, who reportedly earned a staggering Rs 200 crore for the film, has reached a significant milestone.
In the financial year 2023-24, Vijay made an advance tax payment of Rs 80 crore, placing him second on Fortune India’s ‘The Star Cast’ list of top tax-paying Indian celebrities. This achievement sees him surpassing Bollywood heavyweights like Salman Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Ajay Devgn, Hrithik Roshan, and even cricket icon Virat Kohli. Leading the list is Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, with a payment of Rs 92 crore.
Other notable names in the list include Salman Khan (Rs 75 Cr), Amitabh Bachchan (Rs 71 Cr), Virat Kohli (Rs 66 Cr), Ajay Devgn (Rs 42 Cr), MS Dhoni (Rs 38 Cr), Ranbir Kapoor (Rs 36 Cr), Hrithik Roshan (Rs 28 Cr), and Sachin Tendulkar (Rs 28 Cr), along with Kapil Sharma, Sourav Ganguly, Kareena Kapoor, Shahid Kapoor, Mohanlal, Allu Arjun, Hardik Pandya, and Rishabh Pant.
