Vicky Kaushal’s latest historical drama, Chhaava, continues to dominate the box office, maintaining its stronghold even on weekdays. The film has sustained impressive momentum since its release, pulling in audiences with its gripping storyline and stellar performances.
As per Sacnilk, Chhaava amassed approximately ₹32 crore (nett) across all languages on its sixth day. With this, the film’s total collection has soared to ₹197 crore. The movie recorded a 38.11% occupancy in Hindi theatres on Wednesday, highlighting its sustained demand.
Emerging as the highest-grossing Hindi film of 2025, Chhaava has already surpassed Sky Force, which previously held the record with ₹112 crore. The film is also set to become the first Bollywood release of 2025 to cross the ₹200-crore mark, solidifying its box office dominance.
Directed by Laxman Utekar, Chhaava hit the big screens on February 14, 2025, and has been making waves ever since. The movie features Vicky Kaushal in the powerful role of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, with Akshaye Khanna portraying the formidable Aurangzeb. The ensemble cast also includes Rashmika Mandanna, Vineet Kumar Singh, Ashutosh Rana, Neil Bhoopalam, and Diana Penty, each delivering noteworthy performances.
Though critics had mixed-to-positive reactions, audiences have showered the film with love, praising its narrative depth, historical accuracy, and compelling performances. The film’s impact has even led to it being declared tax-free in Madhya Pradesh, making it more accessible to a wider audience.
Speaking about the rigorous preparation for the role, Vicky Kaushal shared his experience with ANI, stating:
“Portraying a historical figure demands immense discipline, which is incredibly challenging. It’s not just a one-month commitment but a dedicated journey of nearly two years. This has been the toughest role of my career so far, and I hope to continue growing—not just as an actor but as a human being—with every project I undertake.”
With its unstoppable box office run and audience appreciation, Chhaava is proving to be a game-changer for Bollywood in 2025. As the film inches closer to the ₹200 crore benchmark, its success cements Vicky Kaushal’s stature as one of the most bankable stars in the industry.
