As anticipated, Vicky Kaushal’s latest blockbuster Chhaava made the most of the Shivaji Maharaj Jayanti holiday in Maharashtra. The film raked in a massive ₹32 crore nett on Wednesday, nearly matching its opening day collection of ₹33 crore nett.
For most films, surpassing or even matching the opening day numbers beyond the first weekend is a challenge. However, Chhaava has defied the odds, securing a spot among Bollywood’s top six highest-grossing first Wednesdays of all time. The film has also stormed into the ₹200 crore nett club at the domestic box office within just six days of its release.
With its current momentum, Chhaava is well on track to surpass ₹400 crore nett. By the weekend, it is expected to become Vicky Kaushal’s highest-grossing solo film, overtaking Uri: The Surgical Strike.
Directed by Laxman Utekar, this epic warrior saga also stars Akshaye Khanna and Rashmika Mandanna in pivotal roles.
