Singer Chinmayi Sripaada took to social media to call out a user’s outdated remarks on virginity, sparking widespread discussion. The controversy began when a user lamented the lack of “virgin girls” for men to marry, citing data on condom sales as evidence. Chinmayi’s sharp response highlighted the double standards surrounding virginity and sparked support from her followers.

Chinmayi’s Viral Reply

On January 1, a social media user posted, “Good luck finding a virgin girl to marry in this generation,” alongside statistics on condom deliveries. Chinmayi shared the now-deleted tweet, replying, “Then men shouldn’t have premarital sex with women. Unless said men are having sex with goats, dogs, and reptiles.”

When another user criticized her opinion and stated that women shouldn’t have premarital sex either, Chinmayi retorted, “Women aren’t the ones obsessed with ‘VIRRRRRGIN.’ Women assume men have been sexually active anyway and don’t even dare to ask if you all have had safe or unsafe sex.”

She continued, “It looks like the incel bros think they have permanently contaminated a woman once they have sex with her. Wherefore men must be some disease that women never recover from. Wonder what that is.”

Support from Social Media

Chinmayi’s stance resonated with many online, who criticized the original tweet for its assumptions. One user asked, “Why is he so sure that men are not buying condoms to have sex with their own wives?” Another questioned, “This chap has a problem with people having safe, responsible sex?”

Due to the hate she has previously received online, Chinmayi restricted replies to her tweets. However, her responses still sparked conversations about gender norms and societal expectations.
