Daaku Maharaaj, starring Nandamuri Balakrishna (NBK), has continued its strong performance at the box office, earning Rs. 14 crore in its second weekend. With this, the film’s total box office collection in India has reached Rs. 85 crore, while its global gross has crossed Rs. 100 crore, including an impressive Rs. 16.50 crore from overseas markets.
This marks NBK’s fourth consecutive Rs. 100 crore film, following his earlier success with Akhanda in 2021. However, despite a strong showing, the film’s collections dipped slightly after the holiday period, making the goal of surpassing Rs. 100 crore in Telugu states less likely.
Day-wise Box Office Collections in India:
- Sunday: Rs. 26.00 cr.
- Monday: Rs. 14.50 cr.
- Tuesday: Rs. 13.00 cr.
- Wednesday: Rs. 10.50 cr.
- Thursday: Rs. 7.25 cr.
- Friday: Rs. 4.75 cr.
- Saturday: Rs. 4.50 cr.
- Sunday: Rs. 4.75 cr.
Total: Rs. 85.25 cr.
Territorial Breakdown in India:
- AP/TS: Rs. 78.25 cr.
- Nizam: Rs. 19.25 cr.
- Ceded: Rs. 15.00 cr.
- Andhra: Rs. 44.00 cr.
- Karnataka: Rs. 5.75 cr.
- Rest of India: Rs. 1.25 cr.
Total (India): Rs. 85.25 cr.
While the film has performed solidly, there have been challenges for its distributors in Nizam and Ceded, who are expected to face losses due to the high premiums paid for the rights. Coastal Andhra, however, is expected to break even, thanks in part to higher ticket prices. The film may close its run just short of surpassing Veera Simha Reddy’s Rs. 97 crore in the Telugu states, but its overall success continues to solidify its place in the box office charts.
