Balakrishna’s Daaku Maharaaj had a decent theatrical run, collecting over ₹75 crore in worldwide share. However, the film’s box office potential was impacted by the sensational success of Sankranthiki Vasthunam, which dominated the Sankranti season. Now, Daaku Maharaaj is gearing up for its OTT debut on Netflix.
The film is set to stream on Netflix in Dolby format, with its release expected in the second week of February. Netflix has acquired the digital rights for all languages. Music director Thaman expressed his excitement about the film’s arrival on the platform, sharing that the Dolby experience would enhance the viewing pleasure.
Director Bobby, who previously delivered a blockbuster with Waltair Veerayya during Sankranti 2023, couldn’t replicate the same success this time. However, Daaku Maharaaj remains a profitable venture for all stakeholders and marks Balakrishna’s fourth consecutive hit.
Meanwhile, Balakrishna has already begun shooting for Akhanda 2, directed by Boyapati Srinu. The film is carrying massive expectations, given the successful collaboration between the actor-director duo.
