Allu Arjun, the star of ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule,’ was released from Chanchalguda Jail in the early hours of Saturday. The actor, fondly known as Bunny, had spent the entire night in the Manjeera Barracks of the jail due to his alleged involvement in the Sandhya 70mm case.
A video of Allu Arjun’s arrest at his residence went viral on social media, showing the actor expressing displeasure about police officers entering his bedroom and not allowing him sufficient time to change clothes before his arrest. This incident drew significant attention online.
However, the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) issued a clarification, stating that the police had not misbehaved with Allu Arjun. “We didn’t misbehave with Allu Arjun during his arrest. He requested that we wait while he changed his clothes, and we waited outside as he did so. We took him into custody only after he came out of his bedroom. Allu Arjun voluntarily sat in the police vehicle,” said the DCP.
The DCP further explained the sequence of events that led to the arrest. According to the official, police had advised Allu Arjun to leave the Sandhya 70mm theater when the situation began to escalate during the premiere of ‘Pushpa 2: The Rule.’ However, Allu Arjun reportedly chose to remain inside the theater and watched the movie for two hours instead of leaving. This decision eventually resulted in his detention.
The incident has become a talking point among fans and media, with many expressing support for Allu Arjun, while others have raised questions about the circumstances surrounding his arrest.
