Telugu superstar Jr NTR’s highly anticipated film Devara: Part 1 is poised for a spectacular opening at both the domestic and international box office on its release date. The film has received a strong response in advance bookings for its first day.
Devara is expected to become the second highest Indian grosser at the worldwide box office, trailing only behind the Prabhas and Deepika Padukone starrer Kalki 2898 AD. Reports suggest that Devara could earn around ₹125 crore on its opening day globally, while Kalki 2898 AD made ₹177.70 crore on its first day. Directed by Koratala Siva, Devara has logged advance bookings worth approximately ₹75 crore worldwide, according to film trade portal Sacnilk.
In the domestic market, Devara is anticipated to perform exceptionally well, with estimates suggesting a gross of ₹65-70 crore in the Andhra Pradesh and Telangana regions. Overall, the film’s box office collection in India on its opening day could range between ₹85-90 crore. Additionally, ticket sales in the overseas market, including premiere shows, have reached ₹40 crore ($5 million).
The film has seen impressive pre-sales across states like Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and Telangana. Specifically, Devara: Part 1 has recorded advance bookings of ₹54.27 crore (including block seats) and ₹38.84 crore (excluding block seats). Ticket sales included ₹16.31 crore in Andhra Pradesh, around ₹5.85 crore in Karnataka, and ₹12.88 crore in Telangana.
During a promotional event, director Koratala Siva emphasized that he does not create films solely for a single language audience. He stated, “A good film will gradually appeal to all kinds of viewers.” When asked about the film’s potential success with Hindi-speaking audiences, he remarked, “I don’t make calculations when crafting a story. If the writing process is organic, the film will connect with audiences across all languages.”
Devara: Part 1 is an action drama featuring Janhvi Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan, and it marks Jr NTR’s second project following his acclaimed performance in SS Rajamouli’s RRR.
