Koratala Siva’s action-packed drama, Devara: Part One, starring Jr. NTR, has faced challenges in the Tamil market, joining the list of Telugu films that struggled to make an impact there. The Tamil version of the film has unfortunately turned into a box-office disappointment.
Devara’s Tamil theatrical rights were sold for INR 6 crore, but despite the involvement of popular composer Anirudh Ravichander, the film has only managed to collect a modest INR 1 crore. With production and promotional costs taken into account, it is projected to incur a loss of INR 8 crore.
In contrast, Devara has been a strong performer in its original Telugu version and has found great success in Hindi, where it has already grossed over INR 50 crore. Globally, the film posted an impressive first-week gross of INR 328 crore, a significant achievement for modern Indian cinema.
