Devara had an impressive run at the box office during its opening weekend, grossing around Rs. 250 crore worldwide, making it one of the biggest first weekend performances in Tollywood history. As expected, the Telugu version led the collections, while the Hindi version performed well. However, the Tamil version underperformed, failing to make a significant impact.
In the overseas market, Devara exceeded expectations with a stellar $5.3 million opening. However, there was a noticeable drop in collections on Days 2 and 3, with the total first weekend gross reaching $7 million, mostly driven by strong premiere and Day 1 figures. Despite the dip, the film is on track to achieve breakeven and is expected to generate profits.
To secure a super hit status, Devara needs to collect Rs. 400 crore. The film must maintain strong momentum starting Monday until the second weekend. The upcoming public holiday on Wednesday and the Dussehra holidays, which begin next weekend, are expected to further boost the film’s box office performance.
