The Chennai family court has received divorce petitions from actor-director Dhanush and director Aishwarya Rajinikanth. The pair filed the case under Section 13 B, which deals with divorce by mutual consent, according to those close to the couple who spoke with India Today. Many of their fans were taken aback when the pair revealed their plan to split up in January 2022.
For the previous two years, they have lived separately. They have been spotted together at their boys’ school functions even though they are no longer together. On January 17, 2022, Dhanush declared their divorce, capping their 18-year union.
“Eighteen years together as friends, a couple, parents, and well-wishers to each other,” his statement said. It has been a voyage of learning, development, and adaptation. We have come to a point when our paths diverge today. I’ve made the decision to split up with Aishwaryaa in order to give us more time to grow as people.
Similar to this, Aishwarya asked for privacy on social media while they worked through their split. When Dhanush and Aishwarya got married in 2004, they were 21 and 23, respectively, they had a grandiose wedding. Yatra and Linga, their two boys, make them proud parents today.
