Aishwarya Rajinikanth Biography:
Aishwarya Rajinikanth, born on January 1, 1982, is an Indian film director and playback singer active in Tamil cinema. She is the eldest daughter of actor Rajinikanth and Latha Rajinikanth. Additionally, she was previously married to actor Dhanush. Aishwarya marked her directorial debut with the film “3” in 2012.

Aishwarya embarked on her journey in the Tamil film industry as a playback singer, debuting with an unreleased film, “Ramanaa,” directed by Parthy Bhaskar, with a song composed by Deva in November 2000. Her first released song was “Natpe Natpe” from D. Imman’s soundtrack for “Whistle” (2003), where she collaborated with the composer and actor Silambarasan.
In August 2011, she made headlines by announcing her directorial debut, “3,” starring her husband, Dhanush, and Shruti Haasan. The film garnered immense anticipation, especially after the viral success of “Why This Kolaveri Di” from its soundtrack, composed by her cousin Anirudh Ravichander. Aishwarya featured alongside the lead cast and composer in the making of the video.
In July 2015, she unveiled plans to launch a YouTube channel under the banner of “Ten Entertainment,” dedicated to promoting original content and short films by budding filmmakers.
Aishwarya’s multifaceted career also saw her judging STAR Vijay’s dance competition, “Jodi Number One,” in its third season, alongside actors Sangeetha and Jeeva. Additionally, she expanded her repertoire as a playback singer with songs like “Un Mela Aasadhan” in the film “Aayirathil Oruvan,” where she also served as an assistant director.
In August 2016, Aishwarya was appointed India’s goodwill ambassador for the UN Women organization.

In March 2017, Aishwarya showcased her Bharatanatyam skills at the UN headquarters on International Women’s Day. However, her performance faced criticism on social media from professional Bharatanatyam dancers. Renowned Indian dancer Anita Ratnam expressed her discontent on Aishwarya’s Facebook, stating, “This portrayal of Bharatanatyam… is reduced to a caricature and a mockery!
Aishwarya Rajinikanth Marriage & Sons & Divorce:
Aishwarya was previously married to actor Dhanush, with whom she shares two sons. Yatra Raja, their elder son, was born on October 10, 2006, while Linga Raja, their younger son, was born on June 21, 2010. The couple publicly announced their separation via their respective social media platforms on January 17, 2022. Subsequently, in April 2024, they initiated divorce proceedings.
In December 2016, Aishwarya Rajinikanth unveiled her memoir, “Standing on An Apple Box: The Story of A Girl Among the Stars.” Through this book, she delves into her experiences as a celebrity offspring, her career decisions, her marriage, and her life as the daughter of Rajinikanth.
