National Award-winning actor Dhanush’s latest directorial venture, Raayan, has captivated audiences, achieving blockbuster success at the box office. Following its success, Dhanush’s third directorial, Nilavuku En Mel Ennadi Kobam (NEEK), is set for an upcoming theatrical release. This film, which brings together a talented cast including Anika Surendran, Pavish, Priya Prakash Varrier, Matthew Thomas, Venkatesh Menon, Rabiya Khatoon, and Ramya Ranganathan, has already generated excitement with its first single, “Golden Sparrow.”
The song, featuring actress Priyanka Mohan, has become a YouTube sensation, amassing over 50 million views and adding significant buzz to this youthful drama. In a recent interview, Priyanka shared how she joined the project. She recalled, “Dhanush mentioned NEEK during the shoot of Captain Miller. One day, he approached me about a special song in the film and asked if I’d be interested.” After considering the role, Priyanka decided to join, noting that she appears in the full video, though only the lyrical version has been released so far. She hinted that a new video related to the song will be unveiled closer to the film’s release, showcasing a hook step that introduces the younger cast.
Priyanka expressed her love for the song, highlighting the unique experience of shooting it in just one day without rehearsal. Up next, she will appear in Brother, alongside Jayam Ravi, slated for a Diwali release.
