Nikhil, one of Tollywood’s most promising actors and known for his pan-Indian hit Karthikeya 2, faced a setback with his latest film, Appudo Ippudo Eppudo. Released on November 7 with minimal promotion, the film saw surprisingly low openings, even lower than Nikhil’s earlier releases. This performance contrasts sharply with the strong starts his films typically achieve.
Reportedly, Nikhil had reservations about the timing of the film’s release, but the producers proceeded due to a pre-set digital distribution deal. The lack of promotions, coupled with underwhelming trailers and songs, impacted the film’s initial reception. The movie marks Nikhil’s third collaboration with director Sudheer Varma, following their successes with Swamy Ra Ra and Kesava. Featuring Rukmini Vasanth as the lead actress and produced by BVSN Prasad, Appudo Ippudo Eppudo is now counting on digital streaming to reach a wider audience.
