Both “Double iSmart” and “Mr Bachchan” are gearing up for an Independence Day release on August 15th, aiming to capitalize on the holiday weekend. These films have generated significant buzz due to their star-studded director-hero combinations and effective promotional content.
Currently, “Double iSmart” seems to have an edge over “Mr Bachchan.” Despite Puri Jagannadh’s recent box office failure with “Liger,” the success of “iSmart Shankar” has kept interest high among buyers. Directed by Puri Jagannadh, “Double iSmart” features Ram Pothineni, Kavya Thapar, and Sanjay Dutt in key roles. The film’s theatrical rights across all languages have been acquired by Prime Show Entertainment for 54 crores, with the Telugu version valued at 42-43 crores. The Andhra region’s business ratio stands at 18 crores.
On the other hand, “Mr Bachchan,” directed by Harish Shankar and starring Ravi Teja, has a total worldwide business value of around 31-32 crores. The Andhra business ratio for “Mr Bachchan” is 13 crores. The film also features Bhagyashri Borse, making her Tollywood debut, and Jagapathi Babu. “Mr Bachchan” is a remake of the 2018 hit “Raid,” originally starring Ajay Devgn and Shriya Saran.
As both films vie for audience attention this Independence Day, the competition is set to be intense, with “Double iSmart” currently holding a slight advantage.
