With “Pushpa 2” postponed from its original release date of August 15th, several small and medium-budget films are vying for the coveted Independence Day weekend. Among these films, “Double Ismart,” starring Ram and directed by Puri Jagannadh, is the most prominent and crucial. Initially, everyone believed “Double Ismart” would have a great opening due to the lack of major competing films.
Other films releasing around the same time include Vikram’s “Thangalaan,” directed by P.A. Ranjith, Narne Nithin’s “Aay,” and Nivetha Thomas’s “35 Movie.” These films have relatively low buzz and were not expected to impact “Double Ismart.”
However, the competition landscape is changing. Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja and Harish Shankar’s “Mr. Bachchan” is now planned for release on August 14th. This presents significant competition for Ram and Puri Jagannadh, as the Ravi Teja and Harish Shankar combo has a strong brand value. “Mr. Bachchan,” being an action entertainer, will undoubtedly pose a challenge to “Double Ismart.”
