Dushara Vijayan Biography:
Dushara Vijayan (born 14 October 1997) is an Indian actress primarily known for her work in Tamil cinema. She made her debut with the film Bodhai Yeri Budhi Maari (2019) and rose to prominence with standout performances in Sarpatta Parambarai (2021), Natchathiram Nagargiradhu (2022), and Raayan (2024).
Dushara Vijayan Career:
Born in Dindigul, Dushara Vijayan initially pursued an engineering degree before switching to fashion studies. She made her acting debut with Bodhai Yeri Budhi Maari (2019), a project led by newcomers, followed by Anbulla Ghilli (2022), a film centered around a dog.
Dushara’s breakthrough came with the sports drama Sarpatta Parambarai (2021), where she played a spirited woman from 1970s Madras. Director Pa. Ranjith discovered her through a photograph on Twitter and called her in for a twenty-minute audition. Though initially unsure, Ranjith ultimately cast her in the role. To prepare for the part, Dushara learned the North Chennai dialect and adopted specific mannerisms. The film garnered positive reviews, and Dushara’s performance was widely praised.
She later appeared in Pa. Ranjith’s romantic drama Natchathiram Nagargiradhu (2022) and Vasanthabalan’s thriller Aneethi (2023) opposite Arjun Das.
In 2024, she starred alongside Dhanush in the action drama Raayan, receiving critical acclaim for her portrayal of the character Durga.
