This weekend, Telugu cinema enthusiasts will find limited options for entertainment at theaters. With the postponement of several highly anticipated summer blockbusters, including “Love Me,” “Sasivadane,” and “Prathinidhi 2,” the release plans for many small-budget films have been shuffled. However, even these alternative releases have been pushed to May.
“Love Me” is now set for a May 25th premiere, while “Sasivadane” and “Prathinidhi 2” await confirmation on their release dates. The primary reason behind these postponements is the lack of buzz, as the nation is currently immersed in election fever and the excitement of the IPL. This trend is expected to continue until the end of May.
The delayed releases provide the makers with ample time to ramp up promotion and ensure a proper launch towards the end of next month. In the meantime, audiences can anticipate the Telugu-dubbed versions of Tamil star Vishal’s “Rathnam” (April 26) and “Aranmanai 4,” featuring Tamannaah and Raashi Khanna (May 3), as the prominent offerings hitting theaters. These releases precede the lineup of direct Telugu films scheduled for release in the last week of May.
