Vishwak Sen’s Gaami recently earned an A certificate from the censor board, fueling anticipation among movie enthusiasts. Director Vidhyadhar revealed an intriguing detail about this adventurous drama.
Gaami comes in two technical versions, offering viewers a distinct cinematic experience. One version follows the standard 2.39:1 aspect ratio, while the other adopts a 1.90:1 ratio akin to IMAX digital screens. The 1.90:1 version will exclusively screen at select venues like Prasads PCX, AMB Cinemas, and a theater in Vellore, whereas other theaters will showcase the film in the traditional 2.39:1 ratio.
Notably, the 1.90:1 ratio applies to specific scenes, notably a 15-minute sequence, where it expands to fill the entire screen at Prasads PCX. This unique approach emphasizes certain narrative elements, such as the protagonist’s childhood segments, portrayed in a larger ratio, as seen in the teaser.
Director Vidhyadhar expressed a desire to utilize a 1:43:1 aspect ratio, which would fully utilize the expansive PCX screen. However, logistical constraints led to the current approach, aimed at enhancing storytelling through innovative aspect ratios.
