Powerstar Pawan Kalyan is celebrating his birthday today. Despite the heavy rains and floods across Andhra Pradesh, the actor decided against making any new announcements. However, his blockbuster film Gabbar Singh had a grand and widespread re-release.
Even with the challenging weather conditions and competition from films like Saripodhaa Sanivaaram, Gabbar Singh drew record footfalls. Early morning shows in several towns quickly sold out, leading to packed houses. Gabbar Singh is now one of the highest openers for any Telugu re-release, prompting some distributors to increase the screen count for evening shows. In certain towns, the film is playing on 4-5 screens, all with full occupancy.
Directed by Harish Shankar, Gabbar Singh is a remake that was expertly adapted and executed, marking Pawan Kalyan’s triumphant comeback after a series of flops. Produced by Bandla Ganesh and featuring Shruthi Haasan as the leading lady, Gabbar Singh shattered records years ago, and its re-release is now setting new ones.
