Game Changer, released amidst massive expectations, has struggled to live up to the hype due to below-average word of mouth. The film grossed approximately 86 crores worldwide on its opening day but experienced a significant drop on Day 2, particularly in the Telugu states. In Tamil Nadu and the overseas markets, the trend was similar, with noticeable declines. However, the film managed to hold steady in the Hindi market, where Day 2 collections were on par with the opening day.
Globally, the film is estimated to have earned around 35 crores on its second day, bringing the two-day total to approximately 120 crores. With a breakeven target set at a massive 450 crores, Game Changer faces an uphill battle. Advance bookings for Day 3 indicate even lower numbers compared to Day 2, a troubling sign for the film’s prospects.
As Game Changer navigates its run, competition from Daaku Maharaaj and Sankranthiki Vasthunam looms large. While the festival season could provide a much-needed boost, the emergence of positive talk for competing films could spell trouble, potentially ending the game for Game Changer.
