He completed his primary education at Sarada Niketan School in Prakasam District and attended VR College in Nellore for his upper primary education. However, he discontinued his studies in the 12th grade to pursue a career in the film industry.

Career

Malineni began his career as a camera assistant for ETV programs in Warangal, earning recognition for his work in ETV News. He then transitioned to the film industry, working as a camera assistant on the movie “Hello I Love You,” directed by Veera Shankar. He served as an assistant director on several films, including “Police” starring Srihari, and collaborated with notable directors such as E.V.V. Satyanarayana, Srinu Vytla, A.R. Murugadoss, Srivas, and Meher Ramesh on projects like “Andarivaadu,” “Venky,” “Dhee,” “Stalin,” “Lakshyam,” “Kantri,” and “Billa.”

In 2010, Malineni made his directorial debut with the action-comedy film “Don Seenu,” starring Ravi Teja and Shriya Saran, which became one of the year’s biggest hits. He continued his success with “Bodyguard” (2012), featuring Venkatesh and Trisha, and “Balupu” (2013), another collaboration with Ravi Teja, which was well-received by critics and audiences alike. Other notable works include “Pandaga Chesko” (2015) with Ram Pothineni and Rakul Preet Singh, and “Winner” (2017) starring Sai Dharam Tej and Rakul Preet Singh. In 2021, he directed “Krack,” reuniting with Ravi Teja, which achieved both critical acclaim and commercial success.

Gopichand Malineni married Sri Satya on February 14, 2013. The couple has a son, Satvik, who made his acting debut as a child actor in the film “Krack” (2021).
