On March 8th, three movies—Bhimaa, Gaami, and Premalu—made their debut on the big screen simultaneously. Gaami stormed ahead with a stellar opening, establishing itself as a solid performer over the weekend and proving to be a profitable venture despite modest theatrical investments.
Contrastingly, Premalu had a slow start but picked up pace gradually, experiencing a remarkable surge in numbers by the second weekend. Presently, the Telugu version of the film is poised to cross the 10 Cr mark, including its overseas earnings.
Bhimaa, although starting with an average opening and weekend, maintained consistency throughout the weekdays without suffering a significant decline as seen with Gaami. Anticipation was high for Bhimaa to witness a substantial increase in collections during its second weekend, especially with the absence of noteworthy new releases. However, to everyone’s astonishment, Premalu emerged as the dominant force across all centers, overshadowing Gaami and Bhimaa without any significant improvement from the latter. Consequently, Bhimaa’s performance at the box office can only be labeled as a disappointment.
Gopichand faces another setback, as Bhimaa joins the list of his previous films with single-digit closing shares. The box office standings are as follows:
