Trivikram Srinivas’ film, “Guntur Kaaram,” featuring Mahesh Babu and Sreeleela in lead roles along with Meenakshi Chaudhary, Prakash Raj, Ramya Krishnan, Jayaram, and others, made its debut on the big screen this Friday, just ahead of the Sankranthi festival. The movie faced a box office clash with Teja Sajja’s “HanuMan” on its opening day, and the filmmakers proudly announced a worldwide earnings of ₹94 crore.
The official social media account of Guntur Kaaram shared on their platform that the film set a remarkable record for a regional movie on its very first day. They exclaimed, “Superstar’s dominance is unparalleled in a Record-Breaking Spree. #GunturKaaram storms the global box office, grossing ₹94 Cr on Day 1 ~ an all-time record in regional cinema! #BlockbusterGunturKaaram.”
The same source reported a notable 70.32% occupancy rate on the film’s opening day, with Hyderabad displaying an overall 72.25% occupancy. Guntur, being Mahesh’s hometown, recorded the highest occupancy at 97.50%. It is noteworthy that the film’s pre-release event took place in Guntur, where Mahesh Babu declared his fans as his family following the passing of his parents.
