Prashanth Varma’s mythological superhero film “HanuMan” exceeded expectations on its opening day at the box office, outshining the Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi starrer “Merry Christmas.” With an impressive sale of 336,000 tickets, the movie surpassed the previous day’s top performer, “Guntur Kaaram,” which sold 236,000 tickets. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, “HanuMan” raked in Rs 7.56 crore net in India on its release day, while “Merry Christmas” earned Rs 2.55 crore. Notably, “HanuMan” surpassed “Merry Christmas” by achieving more than five times the box office collection on its debut.
Lead actor Teja Sajja expressed his delight about the project, stating, “Being a part of ‘HanuMan’ is truly special. In the mystical world of Anjanadri, a young and once irresponsible lad is bestowed with supernatural abilities through the blessings of Lord Hanuman. He confronts a formidable power monger, harnessing the strength of the mighty Lord Hanuman. The character’s transformative journey is what inspired me the most, and the film has truly transformed me.”
