Mohanlal’s iconic masterpiece, “Drishyam,” helmed by Jeethu Joseph, has transcended borders, becoming a beloved franchise remade in numerous languages like Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Kannada, Sinhalese, and even Chinese. The latest buzz surrounds its imminent Hollywood adaptation, following the announcement of a Korean remake last year.
This Hollywood rendition sees a collaboration between Panorama Studios of India and U.S. powerhouses Gulfstream Pictures and JOAT Films, marking a significant milestone in the franchise’s global journey. Panorama Studios, renowned for producing the Hindi rendition of “Drishyam,” secured the international remake rights from Aashirvad Cinemas.
Chairman of Panorama Studios, Kumar Mangal Pathak, emphasized the universal allure of “Drishyam’s” intricate narrative, expressing their ambitious vision to recreate the magic in 10 countries within the next three to five years.
Mike Karz and Bill Bindley, representing Gulfstream Pictures, echoed Pathak’s sentiment, underscoring the timeless appeal of the thriller and their eagerness to captivate American audiences with this gripping tale.
