Meenakshi Chaudhary is all set to captivate audiences with her role as Sumathi, a middle-class housewife, in Lucky Baskhar, premiering on December 31, 2024. We caught up with her to discuss her experience working on this unique project, especially alongside the versatile Dulquer Salmaan.
What was it like filming Lucky Baskhar with Dulquer Salmaan?
“Working with Dulquer was incredibly enriching. We each come from different language backgrounds, so there was a learning curve to ensure we brought out the story’s essence. Dulquer’s professionalism and humility are inspiring, and the young, driven team made it easy to connect on set.”
How do you feel about playing Sumathi, a middle-class wife?
“I love challenges, and Sumathi was one. Observing my mother and other relatives, I got a sense of her spirit – she’s someone who values family over money. I wanted to bring her strength and depth to life, and it was a joy to explore a character so different from myself.”
What makes Lucky Baskhar special for you?
“This project felt special for everyone involved. Rithvik, who plays my son, brought such authenticity to his scenes. The team recreated 1980s Bombay beautifully, and the technical crew truly elevated the film’s emotions and visuals.”
What did you learn from working with Mahesh and Dulquer?
“Mahesh’s discipline and Dulquer’s thorough preparation, combined with his humility, pushed me to give my best every day. Dulquer encouraged me to perfect my Telugu lines and stay dedicated, which was incredibly motivating.”
How was your experience working with Sithara Entertainments?
“They’ve become like family to me. After Guntur Kaaram, I feel so comfortable working with them. They bring such a supportive energy to the set.”
Why should audiences watch Lucky Baskhar?
“Lucky Baskhar has relatable emotions that will resonate with everyone. Playing Sumathi gave me insight into the sacrifices parents make, especially mothers, which is a key strength of the film. I think it will touch many hearts.”
What’s next for you?
“I’m excited about choosing meaningful projects that help me grow as an actor. Money and success come with good work, and I’m committed to following that path.”
