When a film featuring Prabhas and Maruthi was announced, fans anticipated a quick production with an early release. The project, titled Raja Saab, began filming at the end of 2022, and many expected it to hit theaters in 2023. However, as 2024 comes to a close, there’s no sign of even a teaser.
The makers recently confirmed that the teaser won’t be released for Christmas or New Year celebrations. Additionally, the film’s release has been postponed from April 2025 to late 2025, marking nearly three years of production—a timeline typically reserved for large-scale pan-Indian projects with massive budgets.
The primary reason behind the delays is the extensive VFX work, with the team taking significant time to deliver high-quality output. While delays are often understandable due to budget constraints, that isn’t the case here, as Raja Saab is a Prabhas film with no financial limitations.
This prolonged wait and dwindling anticipation have created a substantial challenge for director Maruthi. He now faces the daunting task of presenting the Raja Saab world in a visually extraordinary way to reignite excitement among fans and ensure the film’s success at the box office.
