The Indian Panorama, a prestigious segment of the 55th International Film Festival of India (IFFI), has unveiled its lineup, featuring 25 feature films and 20 non-feature films from a remarkable selection of 384 contemporary Indian entries. This year’s curated collection includes five notable mainstream cinema titles, showcasing diverse storytelling from across India.
Among the standout selections are two Telugu films: Kalki 2898 AD, a blockbuster starring Prabhas and directed by Nag Ashwin, and 35-Chinna Katha Kaadu, directed by Nanda Kishore Emani and featuring Nivetha Thomas. While the films were chosen by a 12-member jury, the absence of Tollywood representation in the jury has sparked conversation within the industry.
The Hindi film Swatantrya Veer Savarkar, directed by Randeep Hooda, will open the Indian Panorama 2024. Other highly anticipated films in the lineup include Article 370, Bramayugam, Level Cross, 12th Fail, and Manjummel Boys.
Organized by the National Film Development Corporation, along with the Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and the Government of Goa, IFFI will run from November 20 to 28, 2024, in Panaji, Goa, promising an exceptional celebration of Indian cinema.
