Prabhas’ epic blockbuster Kalki 2898 AD, which premiered in theaters on June 27, 2024, is now available for streaming on multiple OTT platforms. Directed by Nag Ashwin, this cinematic sensation can be watched on both Amazon Prime Video and Netflix.
On Netflix, the film is available exclusively in Hindi, while Amazon Prime Video offers it in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam. Notably, the OTT version has been shortened by approximately 6 minutes, reducing the runtime from the original 3 hours and 1 minute to 2 hours and 55 minutes.
Here’s a breakdown of the changes made:
- Prabhas’ Introduction: The extensive introduction scene was trimmed to streamline the film.
- Removed Scenes: A segment where an elderly woman and a villain refer to Prabhas as “Kappa” (frog) has been cut, along with associated scenes.
- Fighting Sequences: The fight scene following Prabhas’ introduction, involving him against two heavy men, was shortened.
- ‘Ta Takkara’ Song: Some beach scenes in the song were trimmed, and the sequence where Prabhas, in a maroon outfit, is expelled by Colony security was deleted.
- Interval Scene: The interval scene featuring Deepika Padukone walking through a fiery tunnel now includes new lyrics for the Kalki theme, and the interval card has been removed.
- Minor Tweaks: Adjustments were made to the dubbing for a smoother viewing experience.
