Kangana Ranaut’s ‘Emergency’ Clears Major Hurdles: Positive Updates

Kangana Ranaut’s much-anticipated film Emergency, which she both directed and produced, has encountered several delays due to issues with the censor board. Initially planned for release on September 6th, the film has faced multiple setbacks, including backlash from Sikh communities. Frustrated by the situation, Kangana issued strong statements expressing her confusion over the continuous delays.

The Revision Committee of the Censor Board of Film Certification (CBFC) reviewed the film and recommended several cuts. In response, the Bombay High Court advised Kangana and her team to make the necessary changes to secure the film’s release. The producers sought intervention from the court to expedite the censor certification process, and the court urged the CBFC to make a decision promptly.

Emergency, which revolves around the life of former Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, also features prominent actors like Anupam Kher, Shreyas Talpade, Vishak Nair, Mahima Chaudhry, and Milind Soman. Despite the legal challenges, including cases filed in the Madhya Pradesh High Court by Sikh organizations, Kangana is expected to announce a new release date soon.
