Vishwak Sen’s upcoming film Laila is currently caught in a major controversy, as netizens have called for a boycott following a political comment made by actor Pruthviraj during the pre-release event. Despite the backlash, the film’s team remains confident in its success.
Scheduled for release on February 14, the film has received an A certificate from the censor board and has a runtime of 136 minutes and 10 seconds (2 hours, 16 minutes, and 10 seconds). However, the promotional content, including songs and the trailer, has failed to generate significant buzz.
For Laila to achieve a hit status, it must collect a ₹10 crore share at the box office. Vishwak Sen has never faced trolling or criticism for his performances, but this time, #BoycottLaila is posing a major challenge.
With negative buzz surrounding the film, will the entertainment factor be enough to turn things around? Only time will tell! Stay tuned.
