Lokesh Kanagaraj Reacts to Nagarjuna’s Coolie Scene Leak: ‘2 Months of Hard Work Gone in Vain

Rajinikanth’s upcoming Tamil film, Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, is among the most awaited releases of 2025. Recently, a scene featuring Nagarjuna Akkineni from the movie was leaked, causing an uproar. Kanagaraj expressed his disappointment, stating that “two months of hard work” was wasted due to the leak. He took to X (formerly Twitter) to request fans not to share leaked content, as it “spoils the overall experience.”

In his post, Kanagaraj tweeted, “Two months of hard work by many people have gone in vain because of one recording. I humbly request everyone not to engage in such practices.” Fans showed their support, with one user commenting, “We believe in you, don’t worry Loki. Coolie will set a new benchmark.”

The leaked scene features Nagarjuna Akkineni, who plays a character named Simon, involved in a violent sequence. He can be seen dressed in a white suit, wielding a hammer while threatening and attacking a man. The video, shot from different angles, shows the actor receiving guidance on delivering Tamil dialogue correctly before filming the scene.

Coolie is set for a grand release in 2025 and has already created buzz among fans. The film welcomed Nagarjuna Akkineni to the cast on his birthday in August 2024. Lokesh Kanagaraj, the director, shared his excitement on social media, tweeting, “Kicked to have King @iamnagarjuna sir joining the cast of Coolie as Simon. Welcome on board, and wishing you a very happy birthday, sir.”

The star-studded ensemble also includes Soubin Shahir as Dayal, Shruti Haasan as Preethi, Sathyaraj as Rajasekar, and Upendra as Kaleesha. Leading the film is Rajinikanth, who will portray the character of Deva, further raising expectations for this highly anticipated Tamil release.
