The Telugu-language film Lucky Baskhar, starring Dulquer Salmaan, has achieved impressive success in Tamil Nadu since its Diwali release on October 31. The movie, directed by Venky Atluri, has been enjoying a growing number of shows and theaters across the state due to its popularity, especially given its multi-language release that included a Tamil version.
Following the strong audience response, distributor Rock Fort Entertainment revealed that the film is now playing in 268 theaters with over 1,100 shows across Tamil Nadu. Lucky Baskhar is expected to maintain its steady performance in the state, particularly with no major film releases slated for early November.
Set in Mumbai during the 1980s, Lucky Baskhar follows the story of a dedicated bank employee who, frustrated by repeated promotion rejections, becomes involved in smuggling and eventually embezzles bank funds. His journey through ambition and greed ultimately lands him in dangerous territory.
The film has received positive reviews for its engaging storyline, period backdrop, and Dulquer Salmaan’s stellar performance. OTTplay praised the film, describing it as “one of the most entertaining Telugu films in recent times,” noting its rich blend of emotions, thrills, and character depth.
In addition to Dulquer Salmaan, the cast includes Ramki, Meenakshi Chaudhary, Ayesha Khan, Hyper Aadi, and P. Sai Kumar. Lucky Baskhar is produced by Naga Vamsi and Sai Soujanya under Sithara Entertainments, Fortune Four Cinema, and Srikara Studios. Fans can look forward to the film’s digital release, as Netflix has secured the post-theatrical streaming rights.
